Lets staple some lights to the house…
This is the time of the year when we get the staple guns out and start attaching the strings of lighting to the sides and roofs of our homes like Chevy Chase did in Christmas Vacation. We all know this isn’t true, but sure seems like an easier way to do it. I actually recently saw a Facebook post that said a woman actually witnessed this on her neighbors home, so this must not be too far fetched for Clark Griswold to do. I just wanted to send a reminder out to all of you to be safe and although it may look pretty, it could harm you and your home if you don’t give it some thought when we are sprucing our homes up.
- Nothing on your homes exterior is designed to have a nail or a staple through it, so keep the fasteners superficial if at all possible.
- Ladders are not designed to be used as scaffolding and to be stood on the top step.
- Follow the recommended maximum on the amount of strings of lights you can connect and do not make the areas you plug them into look like Clark’s garage outlet where there are 100 cords coming together.
Just a fun reminder and one to let people know we are thinking about you this holiday season. Cheers to a safe and happy season!!
